David Warner scored his 26th Test century

In a stylish response to his critics, Australia's star opener, David Warner achieved his 26th Test century in the series opener against Pakistan. The ongoing series against Shan Masood's team is widely rumoured to mark Warner's farewell to the five-day format. He impressively initiated this potential swansong, securing an aggressive century on Day 1 against Pakistan's somewhat erratic bowling attack.

Warner adopted a counter-attacking approach and in the process, he achieved his half-century in a brisk 41 balls after he hit a boundary off Faheem Ashraf. Although his strike rate moderated post-lunch, he persisted in his quest for a 26th Test century. Ultimately, he reached this milestone in 125 balls, by playing an upper-cut boundary off debutant Aamer Jamal.

The legendary Australian star batter was finally dismissed after scoring 164 runs. The astonishing thing about his innings was his strike rate throughout the innings. Throughout his innings, the veteran Australian batter scored 16 boundaries and four maximums.
