After a humiliating defeat in the second T20I, the fans were expecting a spirited comeback from the Indian team. In the decisive third T20I at New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, India dominated the game and won the match by 106 runs. With this win, India have not only avoided the whitewash but have also leveled the series 1-1. Suryakumar Yadav was adjourned as Player of the Match as well as Player of the Series.

Earlier in the game, South Africa's captain Aiden Markram won the toss and chose to bowl. Despite a brisk start by openers Shubman Gill (8) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (60), Keshav Maharaj's quick dismissals shifted the game's momentum. However, Captain Suryakumar Yadav, entering at number four, played a pivotal role and established a crucial partnership with Jaiswal. The skipper Suryakumar after a steady start, showcased remarkable power-hitting in the 13th over, hitting three sixes and a four to complete his half-century in 32 balls.

Continuing his dominance after Jaiswal's departure, he achieved his fourth T20I century in just 56 balls, joining the elite club with Rohit Sharma and Glenn Maxwell. Surpassing Virat Kohli in T20I sixes by an Indian batter, he reached 123. Suryakumar's explosive innings of 100 (56) included seven fours and eight sixes, guiding India to a formidable total of 201/7 in 20 overs in the decisive third T20I against South Africa.

South Africa's batting crumbled under Kuldeep Yadav’s wrist spin

The India bowling department certainly left the vows from the previous T20I away and came out all guns blazing. It was veteran pacer Mohammed Siraj who started off with a maiden over. Mukesh Kumar then came in his first over and dismissed opener Matthew Breetzke (4). Later on, it was a brilliant run out from Siraj which ignited the fall of wickets. The performance was such that the Proteas lost three wickets inside the batting powerplay.

Once the Indian spinners came into the attack the host literally had no answers. The duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav wreaked havoc on South African batting. Jadeja ended with a bowling figure of 2/25 in his three overs whereas Kuldeep registered an unbelievable figure of 5/17 in his 2.5 overs.
