'Back to back loses for padosi' - Fans react as Australia beat Pakistan by 62 runs in ODI World Cup 2023

Australia got their second win in the ODI World Cup 2023 as they defeated Pakistan on October 20 after losing back-to-back matches against Team India and South Africa.

The five-time world champions Australia have defeated Pakistan in their fourth game of the ODI World Cup 2023 on October 20 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Speaking about the game here, it was Pakistan skipper Babar Azam who won the toss and invited Australia to bat first during the play. Notably, after being sent first, the five-time world champions have a stellar start in the ODI World Cup 2023 clash against Pakistan. The great openers David Warner and Mitchell Marsh have struck out the centuries, which gave them a wonderful start.

Notably, the left-handed batsman David Warner lit up the show as he hammered 163 runs from just 124 balls, featuring 14 boundaries and nine sixes with a solid strike rate of 132 during the play. In addition, star all-rounder Mitchell Marsh also piled up 121 runs from 108 balls, including ten boundaries and three sixes, to give Australia a flying start. However, following their dismissal, RCB stalwart Glenn Maxwell departed for Duck, where he was expected to do the most damage against Pakistan owing to his experience playing in the groud during the IPL.

Star middle-order batsman Steve Smith could only get 7 runs. Notably, Marcus Stoinis was looking into magnficent form but lost his wicket for just 21 runs. Following him, Josh Inglis, Marnus Labuschagne, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood all departed quickly and posted 367/9 in the given 50 overs. Meanwhile, Pakistan's star pacers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf had scalped 5 and 3 wickets, respectively.

However, during the chase, Pakistan also got off to a magnificent start as star openers Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq struck great half-centuries. Notably,  Abdullah Shafique gets 64 runs from 61 balls, hitting seven boundaries and two sixes, while Imam-ul-Haq piles up 70 runs, including 10 boundaries in the play. Following that, Pakistan's skipper, Babar Azam, could not contribute much from his bat and was departed for just 18 runs.

Later, star batsman Saud Shakeel was also dismissed for 31 runs, and Iftikhar Ahmed was only able to score 26 runs. However, right-handed batsman Mohammad Rizwan was looking in stellar form but lost his crucial wicket for just 46 runs. Following him, no other batsmen could contribute much, and they lost the game by 62 runs.
