'Ye India nahi hai' - Fans react as Rohit Sharma gets dismissed for duck in second innings of Centurion Test 2023

Rohit Sharma was dismissed for a golden duck in the second innings of the Centurion Test 2023. Trailing by a huge score of 163 runs in the second innings, India was under pressure to perform well as a batting unit to stay alive in the Test match. It was probably playing in the minds of both the openers as they were batting in the middle.

The South African bowling duo of Nandre Burger and Kagiso Rabada tamed the Indian batters. Burger was operating at over 140 kmph and constantly troubled Yashasvi Jaiswal. The youngster had no choice but to edge one out to hand Kyle Verreyne a simple catch. It was similar to the way he was dismissed in the first innings by the same bowler.

Burger has not just been taking wickets, but doing it by not conceding many runs. The left arm has been economical with the ball as well. At the other end, India lost the wicket of the captain, who was properly tamed by Rabada. The Indian opener never looked to be at his best in the middle and seemed one good ball away from getting dismissed. When that ball arrived, Rohit had no answers. 

Kagiso Rabada dismisses Rohit Sharma for the second time in a row

Kagiso Rabada has been the nemesis of Rohit for some time in cricket now. Irrespective of the format, Rabada tends to trouble the star batter. In the ongoing Test match, Rabada has dismissed Rohit in both the innings. In the first innings, Rabada tempted Rohit to pull him over the fine leg. As Rohit attempted the pull, he fell to the trap of the pacer and gave away his wicket.

In the second innings, Rohit Sharma received a very good ball from Rabada. The plan from the pacer was to tempt Rohit to drive some of the balls. As Rohit did not attempt to play shots, Rabada tested him with good lengths. Finally, Rabada got one to nip back into the right-hander and got the well-deserving wicket. It has been a forgettable Test so far for the Indian captain.
