Sachin Tendulkar bowled for the first time in a while. In the ongoing friendly match between One World and One Family, Sachin took part and rolled his arms over for the first time in more than 17 years. The star cricketer warmed up a bit before bowling and delivered a classical spell of leg spin. He was at his best and seemed as good as he was in his playing days.
Sachin was an underrated part-time bowler. Back in his playing days, Tendulkar used to outfox the opponents with his unique bowling. As a spin bowler, Tendulkar was a leg spinner. He could spin the ball either way, the Mystery bowler was his traditional stock delivery and Googly was a terrific wicket-taking exponent. At times, Sachin used to singlehandedly help India to win matches with his bowling.
There was an interesting record in his playing days. Tendulkar was the only bowler to defend 6 or fewer runs in the last over of an ODI for India twice. It is such a great record considering that the star cricketer was a spinner. On many such occasions, the former Mumbai Indians player was extremely handy as a spin bowler. Unfortunately, after Sachin suffered the Tennis elbow, he did not bowl as often.
Sachin Tendulkar dismisses Maddy Green
In the friendly game, Sachin brought himself to bowl when One Family were 80/2 at one stage. The star player offered a friendly freebie to Maddy Green, who was on the striker's end. He was happy to play the spinner with ease. With each passing delivery, it seemed like the former ODI World Cup winner got better and delivered terrific deliveries.
Sachin was very good as he spun the ball either way. After bowling a few balls, Maddy was set to sweep the Indian star cricketer. However, Tendulkar realized it and bowled straight onto the pads. In the process, Green was trapped lbw. The former India cricketer celebrated the wicket as he got a set batter who had registered a fifty for himself in the match.
