WPL 2024 is going strong with some riveting matches that keep the fans on the edge of their seats. The first leg of the tournament is being played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru after which it is set to move to Delhi where the final leg of it will be played. The crowd at Bengaluru for the first few matches has been commendable, especially for RCB’s home matches.

However, in the 6th match of the ongoing edition of the WPL, a major security breach took place when a fan from the crowd got past the security personnel and stormed onto the playing field he didn’t know that he would face the current Australian captain Alyssa Healy before creating a ruckus on the playing field.

Alyssa Healy tackled the invader by blocking him by herself. The event occurred during the last delivery of MI's innings when bowler Anjali Sarvani dismissed Sajeevan Sajana on the second-to-last ball. Although the incident wasn't broadcast, numerous images of it have been circulating on social media and are gaining widespread attention. Have a look at the images of the incident here:

 

UP Warriorz took down MI in the last match

After two consecutive losses, UP Warriorz finally tasted success as they beat the defending champions Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets in a one-sided affair. Kiran Navgire who batted at the sixth against Delhi Capitals opened in the last match after Vrinda Dinesh got injured while fielding in the first innings changing the complexion of the game in UP’s favour. 

Navgire smashed 57 runs in 31 balls which enabled UP to chase down the 162 runs set by Mumbai in just 16.3 overs. Her innings included 6 boundaries and 4 towering sixes. Navgire with Alyssa Healy (33) gave UP a dream start and incorporated a 94-run stand in just 9 overs which sealed the match in favour of UP and the 4th innings stand between Harris and Deepti Sharma took UP home in style.
