The New Zealand team once again demolished Pakistan in the 3rd T20I at the University Oval in Dunedin, New Zealand putting up a giant total of 224 where once again we see the Pakistan pace attack fold under pressure. The Pakistan batting equally failed the task and could only manage to score 179 for the loss of 7 wickets and losing the game by 45 runs. This was another inning where Pakistan star batter Babar Azam was the only one to get a score on the board. With 3 fifties in 3 consecutive games Babar has tried his best to save the innings, but unfortunately kept running out of partners. The men in green have once again been outclassed by the Kiwi’s.

The star of the series so far has been Finn Allen, who has shown his exceptional gameplay throughout this series with his ability to play big shots. There was no doubt that the 24-year-old batter from Auckland was a talented prodigy for the team, but he still had to have one great series where along with some flashy cameos, he can be consistent and be among the runs. Finn Allen recently completed 1000+ runs in T20I’s in his 38 matches. He might have an average of just over 26.97, however, his strike rate has always been over 160 making him an attacking option at the top of the innings.

Allen’s unbelievable knock in the 3rd T20I

The explosive opener scored 137 runs in just 62 balls which included 5 fours and 16 massive sixes. This is also the highest T20I score for a Kiwi batter in this format, where he has beaten the likes of Brendon Mccullum. Allen is also currently the highest run scorer in the series with 245 runs at an average of 81.67. This is an innings which will be remembered by everyone in the cricketing world.

This will also be a great addition to the New Zealand squad as they were desperately looking for another talented opening batter along with Devon Conway, who is now the first-choice opener for the black caps. Allen's cricketing future seems to be bright as he has finally shown that he can be more than just a batter scoring quick runs. It will be interesting to see if the selectors will still keep an eye on him going into the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 in the future. We hope that he keeps giving us these incredible performances and keep the fans happy and excited in the future.
