The Indian team and Cricket fans will start rejoicing as India win the 2nd Test at Cape Town and level the series 1-1. This was one of the rarest and weirdest Test matches that the crowd got to witness as the match finished in just 2 days. This was a match where over 30 wickets fell in just 2 days and with only one batter scoring 50+ runs. The Proteas had one of the worst possible starts to the game as they got all out for just 55 runs in the 1st innings. In reply India could also only manage to score only 153 runs, where they lost the last 6 wickets without scoring a single run. Despite the wonderful century from Aiden Markram the South African batters again struggled to get going and were all out for 176  giving the visitors a target of just 79.

The India batters chased down the total without much hurdles and won the game by 7 wickets and levelled the series. There were a lot of records that were broken in this test match which were great and bizarre at the same time. This will make India happy as they become the first Asian team to win a Test match in Cape Town, but it will also make them worry on the batting side for the collapse in the first innings. It will be a disappointment for South Africa as they have lost in the worst possible fashion in a ground where they had a lot of successful ventures.

Bumrah and Siraj the stars of the Test match

This was certainly one of the games where the bowlers have enjoyed the most and getting wickets at regular intervals. The real stars of this Test match were the Indian pace duo of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. Siraj was the man who triggered the collapse in the 1st innings and ended up taking 6 wickets and Bumrah bringing the Indians back into the match by taking 6 wickets as well. Both the bowlers have taken a total of 15 wickets between them in the Test match and were the real heroes for India in levelling the series.

Overall this might have been a Test match filled with a lot of bizarre situations, but we cannot say that the Indians didn’t deserve the victory as they came back everytime they were pegged back by the Proteas. It was one of those rare days where the batters game became a bowlers game as the bowlers had a hold on the batters who did not look comfortable at all on this pitch, where there was extra bounce and a lot of seam movement. The only two innings from the batting department that stood out were Virat Kohli’s 46 and Markram’s century other than that the bowlers were the stars of the game.
