The scenes at the Newlands at Cape Town are dramatic as the Indian bowlers have bowled out the South African batters in the second innings for just 176. This is another great comeback by India after losing the last 6 wickets with no score at all. The Proteas were seen once again struggling to get going with no batter except for Aiden Markram who scored a magnificent hundred trying to keep his team in the game. Unfortunately, it was only Markram who was troubling the scorers with every other batter just finding the edge of the bat. It will be a tough ask for the South African bowlers to win the game as they only have a mere 79 runs to work with.

The hero in the 2nd game was none other than Jasprit Bumrah once again displaying his class at a crucial time in the game. The 30-year-old pacer was looking as threatening as he could be, forcing the South Africa batters to play some loose shots and cramping them for room. Bumrah ended with figures of 6/61 in 13.5 overs in the second innings showing the batters why he is regarded as one of the best bowlers in the world right now. This spell was enough to get South Africa on the backfoot and leave them with very few runs to defend in the 2nd innings.

The Bumrah masterclass

All the six wickets of Jusprit Bumrah were phenomenal in this game, which was full of pace and variations. The first victim of Bumrah was Tristan Stubbs who was beaten by the extra bounce that caught his glove and went straight into the hands of wicketkeeper KL Rahul. The wicket of David Bedingham was a classic seam bowler dismissal that saw the batter getting an outside edge while trying to drive the ball on the offside. The next two dismissals were poor cricketing shots which were forced by Bumrah where Kyle Verreynne was caught trying to pull a ball that was just short of good length and Marco Jansen just gave each catch back to the bowler. The last two wickets, in the end, were pure fast bowlers dismissals where Keshav Maharaj was caught at gully and Ngidi faced another jaffa which was edged and caught at third slip.

This shows why Bumrah is considered the best in the world by the fans and he has proved it in this magnificent spell against South Africa, where he got the better of every batter he has bowled to. Even though this Test Match has been one of the strangest games seeing wickets fall regularly, this spell of Bumrah will always be remembered for the class and ability the pacer has shown throughout his career. He has done wonders for his side in every format he has played.
