T20 World Cup 2024 Groups and Schedule announced

The T20 World Cup 2024 is set to begin on the 1st of June and every team will be set to chase the dream of becoming T20 World champions. This tournament will be held in the West Indies and the United States where the USA will host their first ever International cricket trophy. There are a lot of teams eager to win this trophy and will try to finalise a squad worthy of winning one of the most prestigious cups in T20 cricket. There will be a lot of cricket fans who will witness such an event for the first time in the United States of America after a very successful Major League Cricket (MLC) last year. Who will be crowned champions and be the most dominant force in the T20I we have to wait and watch.

One of the teams which fans would like to see play is the Indians. The men in blue will be looking to win their first major trophy after a decade, in fact, the last time they won the T20 World Cup was in the inaugural season back in 2007, which was 17 years ago. They are currently still the number 1 ranked side in T20I’s and will look to continue their great performances which they have shown in the past. They will start their season playing against Ireland on the 5th of June followed by the much-awaited game against Pakistan on the 9th of June which everyone will be eager to see the two South Asian giants clash. They will then play against the USA and Canada to finish the group stage.

The Groups made in the T20 World Cup

The groups of the upcoming T20 World Cup have already been announced we know that Group A will feature India, Pakistan, Ireland, USA and Canada, where the arch-rivals will come against each other once again and people will be hoping for a historic match on the 9th of June. Group B will feature Australia, England, Namibia, Scotland and Oman where we might also get to see another major rivalry match between the Aussies and The Three Lions. Group C might be one of the most unpredictable ones as it includes New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda and Papua New Guinea, where the Kiwis are playing some good cricket and are clear favourites, but the 3-time champions West Indies who have not been at their best, but still have a lot of T20 stars in the mix and Afghanistan have proven themselves as unpredictable underdogs in the past. 

The last group will feature South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands and Nepal, where the Proteas are having some great games and the Netherlands have proven to be a worthy adversary by beating them in the previous T20 World Cup and the One Day World Cup as well. Overall there might be some clear favourites in all the groups, but the game of T20 is very unpredictable and can surprise you in every match. This will be a tournament that every team will look forward to and win the prestigious cup.
