Rohit Sharma ended up with a huge smile on his face as his Indian team reached the semi-finals of the ODI World Cup 2023. Team India on Thursday beat Sri Lanka by a massive 302 run margin to make their way to the next stage of the tournament.
The Indian skipper scored just four in front of his home crowd but he won the hearts of millions of fans across India with a simple gesture. Rohit Sharma has yet again proved why he is loved by fans across all ages in India.
Team India will next play South Africa on the 5th of November in Kolkata. It is the clash of the top two teams in the tournament. The winner of the game at Eden Gardens will end up as the top team of the ODI World Cup 2023.

After India won the game versus Sri Lanka in Mumbai by 302 runs there was a huge roar and cheer for Rohit Sharma. As the Indian skipper was walking up the stairs one young fan was seen getting an unexpected gift.

The Indian skipper had removed his shoes and passed them on to a young fan in the crowd. The video went viral in a matter of seconds and has been making people go crazy with their admiration for Rohit Sharma.
India batted first and scored 357 from their 50 overs after they were put into bat first. Shubman Gill top scored with 92 runs while Virat Kohli scored 88 runs. Both the Indian batters fell to Dilshan Madushanka who got his first ODI five wicket haul.
Shreyas Iyer yet another local hero scored 82 runs when the team was under pressure. Ravindra Jadeja came towards the backend of the innings and contributed vital runs to help India post the huge total.
Chasing 358 to win the game to stay alive in the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament, Sri Lanka were bowled out for just 55. Mohammed Shami picked 5 wickets for the 2nd time in this campaign. Mohammed Siraj ended up with three wickets. Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja picked a wicket each for the Indian team.
