A top-of-the-table clash is set to take place as South Africa and New Zealand lock horns against each other in an all-important World Cup 2023 clash at MCA Stadium in Pune. South Africa has been phenomenal in the tournament so far as they have won 5 out of the 6 matches convincingly they have played so far except for the game against the Netherlands. They have positioned second on the points table with a berth in the semi-finals almost secured.

On the other hand, New Zealand won their initial 4 matches of the tournament and have lost their last two matches but they are sitting comfortably in the third position with their semi-final chances still well and alive. For New Zealand, Kane Williamson is likely to feature in the match against South Africa as he has recovered from the thumb injury that he sustained in the World Cup itself.

However, their pacer Lockie Ferguson is set to miss the match because of the injury he suffered during the last match against Australia. Ferguson has undergone scans and his further availability will be decided once the reports are out.

Pitch Report and Playing Conditions

The pitch at the MCA Stadium in Pune is considered to be a batting paradise and is one of the most beautiful surfaces to bat on in India, but at the same time, it also offers good bounce and some assistance for the fast bowlers if you pitch in the right area.

The MCA Stadium in Pune has an average score of 301, with fast bowlers taking 84 wickets and spinners taking 31 wickets. Rain is unlikely to affect the match, with temperatures around 33 degrees Celsius during the day and 21 degrees Celsius at night.
