India defeated Pakistan in the ODI World Cup 2023 in Ahmedabad and continued their winning streak. In the biggest cricket tournament, India has beaten Pakistan on all occasions. From 1992 to now in 2023, India has beaten their arch-rivals Pakistan all the eight times they have faced them. Indian bowlers were exceptional in the match against Pakistan, as they restricted them to a total of 191 runs.

India chased the target with relative ease. The knocks of Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer helped India to win the match by 7 wickets with 117 balls to spare. Rohit scored 86 runs in 63 balls and stole the show with his batting. Iyer saw the chase by scoring a fifty. What went unrecognized in the match was the fielding of the Indian team. 

The ground fielding of the Indian team was amazing. even their catching of India was amazing. It is something India has taken pride in doing. India has been fielding well in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. India has the best percentage of conversion of catches. The ground fielding of India has also been very good. In the match against Pakistan, the Indian fielders were brilliant yet again. 

KL Rahul won the Best Fielder of the Match award

To encourage the Indian fielders to perform well as a unit, the Indian management has taken a unique initiative to launch their best fielder of the Match award in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. Against Australia, Virat Kohli won the award. Against Afghanistan, Shardul Thakur bagged the award for his brilliant fielding. In the match against Pakistan, a fielder did not win the award.

Rather, it was the wicketkeeper KL Rahul, who won the award for his keeping in the match. The Indian keeper was brilliant in the match against Pakistan. The catch of Rahul to dismiss Imam-Ul-Haq was one of the highlights of the match. It changed the complexion of the match. As Rahul was awarded in the dressing room, Virat gave a priceless reaction, which lit up the mood of the room.
