The Indian cricket team won their 8th Asia Cup title on Sunday. Rohit Sharma and his team won the game and title by ten wickets at Colombo. Sri Lanka, the hosts and the defending champions were left shell-shocked thanks to the Indian bowlers. The home side could only score 50 before they were bowled out in the 16th over. 2023 Asia Cup – Sri Lanka all out for 50 versus India

Mohammad Siraj picked career best 6/21 from 7 overs to bowl out Sri Lanka for just 50 runs. The right-arm pacer picked 4 wickets in a single over to break the Sri Lankan batting order. Kusal Mendis with 17 and Wellalage with 13 were the top scorers. India got the total and the title in the 7th over.

2000 Asia Cup – Bangladesh all out for 87 against Pakistan

Pakistan raced to 320 from their 50 overs thanks to half-centuries by Imran Nazir, Mohammad Yousuf and Inzamam. Shahid Afridi then struck a quick 45 to help the team to the huge total. The Pakistani pacers then ran through the hosts as they were bowled out for 87 to lose by 233 runs.

1986 Asia Cup – Bangladesh all out for 94 against Pakistan

This was at a time when the Pakistan team boasted some huge names and Bangladesh was just coming up. Left-arm pace sensation Wasim Akram got 4 wickets for 19 runs while Abdul Qadir snapped three. Chasing 95 to win, Pakistan got home with 7 wickets in hand.

1984 Asia Cup – Sri Lanka all out for 96 against India –

Indian seam trio of Chetan Sharma, Madan Lal, and Manoj Prabhakar got Sri Lanka all out for 96. The Indian team was led by Sunil Gavaskar and was the defending World Champions. Team India also won the Champions Cup which was played in Australia the year earlier. This was just another performance to show why they were the best.

1988 Asia Cup – Bangladesh 8/99 against India –

Indian bowlers kept the opposition under check as they got the home to score just 99 runs. Bangladesh lost 8 wickets in a game which was reduced to just 45 overs. India won the game with the fall of one wicket. Sidhu was the man of the match for his half-century.
