Scott Edwards the Netherlands skipper will go down in cricketing folklore as he became a rare ODI wicket for Virat Kohli. The entire Chinnaswamy stadium came unglued as Virat Kohli was seen celebrating a rare wicket in the ODI format.

The Indian team was on the verge of a win to see them end the group phase with 9 wins from as many games. Team India is the only side not to lose a game in the entire group phase as they took on the Netherlands team on Sunday.

Rohit Sharma saw his side register their second-highest team total in the ODI World Cup history. Centuries from middle-order batters Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul helped India score 410/4 from their 50 overs.

Virat Kohli’s golden arm gets a key wicket for India –

Netherlands skipper Scott Edwards was batting on 17 when he was facing up to Virat Kohli. The 35-year-old bowled a ball down the leg side as Edwards got a very thin edge. KL Rahul did the rest and threw the ball up to celebrate a wicket for Virat Kohli.

For the first time in nine years, Virat Kohli had picked a wicket in ODI cricket. Rohit Sharma ran in and joined in the celebration as the entire team mobbed Virat Kohli. Even Anushka Sharma could be seen celebrating the wicket in the member’s pavilion.

The Indian team and its skipper Rohit Sharma tried a few variations as far as the bowling was concerned. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj were seen focusing on the Yorker length balls which yielded wickets for both the bowlers. Mohammed Shami was a tad expensive as he was hit for 33 runs from his 5 overs before he was rested.

The Indian team will be looking to preserve each of their bowlers ahead of the key clash in Mumbai. Kane Williamson and his side will be taking on India in the first semi-finals of the ODI World Cup 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium.
