The five-time world champions Australia are all set to lock horns against the Netherlands on October 25 at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi for their fifth clash of the ODI World Cup 2023. Notably, Pat Cummins and Co. currently place themselves in the fourth spot in the points table with two wins and two losses out of the four games they have played so far.

Australia had a poor start to their campaign as hosts India beat them in their opening game on October 8 in Chennai, whereas South Africa also recorded a great win over the Aussies. However, the former world champions bounced back as they beat Sri Lanka and Pakistan in their next two clashes at the ODI World Cup 2023.

According to reports, the star opening batsman, Travis Head, who had missed half of the ODI World Cup 2023, owing to the injuries he sustained in their ODI series against South Africa ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023, is all set to mark his ODI World Cup debut against the Netherlands on October 25. Notably, the top-order batsman's role will be very crucial for his side, which will boost their batting line-up.

"We’re really optimistic that he’ll be available should all things go well today and as I said, most importantly, the way he pulls up tomorrow will be a key factor. It’s been really impressive the way he’s gone about his recovery. We’ll just wait and see what it looks like in terms of the Netherlands if Head is fit," Andrew McDonald said.

No doubt there are some frustrations obviously being injured at home: Travis Head

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old cricketer has shared his emotions after his return to India for the ODI World Cup 2023. The left-handed batsman reveals that the last four weeks were very enjoyable for him, as he spent them with his little daughter and wife. Moreover, the  Adelaide-born cricketer accepted that he was frustrated about not being able to play, but he was optimistic too at the same point.

"There are always positives that come out of some of these things (the injury break) and this has been a very busy year. It's always nice to spend some time with the girls at home, I'm always going to take that, and I prioritize that. I had a very, very enjoyable four weeks. No doubt there are some frustrations obviously being injured at home but take the positive out of it," Travis Head said.
