The upcoming IPL 2024 Auction will see 333 players fighting over by ten teams in Dubai on the 19th of December. Travis Head along with Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins are expected to make headline during the huge event next Tuesday.
Rachin Ravindra and Gerald Coetzee will be experiencing the IPL 2024 auction for the first time. Experienced players like Umesh Yadav and Shardul Thakur will head back to the auction table to find new teams ahead of the new season.
In this article, we take a look at the top 5 players who didn’t get shortlisted despite their high base price.
Kedar Jadhav – India
One of the earliest non-shocking names not to get shortlisted for the IPL 2024 Auction is Kedar Jadhav. The veteran Indian batter was part of the RCB team and he played against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. Kedar Jadhav had priced himself at INR 2 Crores but failed to get shortlisted due to lack of interest.
Chris Lynn – Australia
The 33-year-old played just 42 IPL games but created a cult following during his time with KKR. Chris Lynn was priced at INR 1.5 Crores and quite predictably wasn’t drafted into the final list of the IPL 2024 Auctions.
Angelo Mathews – Sri Lanka
The former Sri Lankan skipper missed out on the shortlist for IPL 2024 auctions yet again. Angelo Mathews hasn’t played the league for a few years and despite this had priced himself at INR 2 Crores. While Mathews is a Sri Lankan legend in the making, the 36-year-old has found no love from prospective IPL bidders.
Kane Richardson – Australia
Priced at INR 1.5 Crores, Kane Richardson has missed the bus for IPL 2024 auctions. The right-arm pacer was once a T20 hot commodity, but a mixture of injuries and loss of form has plagued Kane Richardson. His last appearance in the league was with RCB during the 2021 season as the pacer came up with unflattering numbers.
Dawid Malan – England
Veteran English batter Dawid Malan was once ranked number 1 in T20I cricket. The left-handed batter though will not be part of the IPL 2024 season. His base price of INR 1.5 Crores may have put off a few potential suitors.
