IPL 2024: Only three Indians get top bidding billing after 333 players make final list

Only three Indian players take the topmost billing during the IPL Mini Auction 2024 to be held in Dubai on the 19th of December as 333 players make it to the final list.

In just seven days 333 players will go under the hammer for the IPL Mini Auctions 2024. Only three players are making the list to INR 2 Crores bracket, which is considered the top billing. Dubai will be hosting the last IPL Auction for 2024 before the mega auctions scheduled ahead of IPL 2025.

Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc are two of the biggest names that will be biggest attraction of the day. Fellow Australian international player Travis Head is also set to be a marquee player after his recent exploits with the bat.

Gujarat Titans have the biggest purse with INR 38. They have 15 Crores at their disposal. The huge bump in cash came after Hardik Pandya was traded to Mumbai Indians in an all-cash deal. The former Gujarat Titans skipper made his move back to his former franchise to be reunited with Rohit Sharma.

Three Indian players take top billing – 

It is going to be an exciting IPL Mini Auctions 2024 with Shardul Thakur, Harshal Patel, and Umesh Yadav being billed at INR 2 Crores. The trio were released by their respective franchise on the 26th of November, when the list for the retained and released players went public.

Shardul Thakur previously played for Kolkata Knight Riders after he was traded from Delhi Capitals. It is expected that the 32-year-old will be one of the most sought-out Indian names in the earliest rounds.

Harshal Patel was released by Royal Challengers Bangalore after a miserable show during IPL 2023. The 33-year-old will be an important bid for by a few teams looking for an Indian seam bowling talent.

Meanwhile, veteran pacer Umesh Yadav could find a new team after his association with KKR ended. The 36-year-old isn’t part of the Indian team and is looking to make his comeback to the national setup. 

Travis Head is surely going to be a hot target for most of the teams after his latest show with the bat. The 29-year-old scored a memorable century in the ODI World Cup 2023 final to help his side win the title.

Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc is set to make a comeback to the league after 8 years. The 33-year-old pacer played two seasons of the IPL in 2014 and 2015 before giving the league a miss in the subsequent years. 

A total of 333 players were shortlisted for the mega event on the 19th of December. Each of the team owners and administration heads to Dubai for picking their favorite stars ahead of the next season in 2024.
