WATCH: Rohit Sharma's furious reaction to Sarfaraz Khan's run out

The hosts are in control of the 3^rd Test of the India vs England series. The 1^st day is done with India at 326-5 after stumps. Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja have brought up their centuries to create a great platform for them going into the 2^nd day. Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja were the heroes of the day with Rohit scoring his 11^th Test hundred scoring 131 from 196 deliveries which included 14 fours and 3 sixes. Jadeja also scored his 4^th in the longest format staying unbeaten on 110 from 212 balls. Everything is looking set for the home team to score an excess of 500 runs in the first innings.

Despite the two centuries, there was also a great knock by the debutant Sarfaraz Khan. Sarfaraz displayed his skills in his first Test match for India. Sarfaraz was playing his usual counter-attacking style of cricket scoring 62 from just 66 deliveries. Scoring a half-century on debut is still a great start for a debutant in Test cricket, and Sarfaraz was looking good to score more. This was still a glimpse of Sarfaraz Khan showing that he is here to stay in Test cricket and we hope he continues his good form going forward.

Skipper unhappy at the Sarfaraz dismissal

The way Sarfaraz departed was disappointing for everyone in the dressing room, especially Rohit Sharma. Jadeja had driven the ball straight to mid-on and taken a couple of steps down the wicket. Sarfaraz also came halfway down and was finally run out at the non-striker's end. This also happened when Jadeja was 99 and was trying to get to his century as well. It was Rohit Sharma’s reaction that took the cake when he threw his cap down in frustration. This was a reaction given since they wanted both these batters to stay at the crease at the end.

The reaction from the India skipper was understandable since the way Sarfaraz was going, he surely deserved a century on debut. Sarfaraz had brought his form from first-class cricket into this match straight away. India is still at a great position, but the dismissal of Sarfaraz will make them feel slightly disappointed. The reaction from Rohit says a lot, that even he wanted the 26-year-old batter to get to triple figures on debut as well. However, it was still a great knock from Sarfaraz and his contribution of 62 runs came at a crucial stage. The young man has finally announced himself on the stage and will want to look forward to playing the same great knocks.
