Naushad Khan gives epic reply to former cricketer on son's debut in 3rd Test vs England

The 1^st day of the 3^rd Test in the India vs England series are so far in control of the hosts. The duo of Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja is still going strong after tea with hosts at 185-3. The Indians had the first wicketless session of the entire series with Rohit closing in on his century and Jadeja making use of his promotion up the order. The Indians are already looking good for a big total and they will want to make complete use of his opportunity of being promoted up the order. The England have to make a strong come back to get back into the game.

Even though both Rohit and Jadeja are looking good in the middle, there is still people waiting for the likes of Sarfaraz Khan, who is currently making his debut in this Test. Sarfaraz has been in consideration for his national debut for a long time. He has been averaging close to 70 in his 45 first class games and has finally got to play his first Test match against a strong England side. All eyes will be on the 26-year-old batter to announce himself on the big stage. Sarfaraz will be going into the Test match with high expectations in the series.

Naushad Khan’s reply

The man who has been a big part of Sarfaraz’s journey is his father and coach Naushad Khan. The father was in tears seeing his sone finally fulfil his dreams. Naushad was even called inside the commentary box as well. While commentating  Naushad had given a great reply to former cricketer turned commentator Aakash Chopra saying “ Raat ko waqt chahiye guzarne ke liye, lekin Suraj meri marzi se nahi nikalne wala (it takes time for the night to pass, the sun is not going to rise according to my wish). This was the reply given to Chopra’s question asking Naushad if he waited too long for his son to play for India.

Sarfaraz had really struggled to make it into the Test side even after consistent performances for Mumbai in first class cricket. We are looking forward to the player who is said to be the next big thing in red ball cricket. Sarfaraz is one of the upcoming talented players and it will be a treat top watch him perform with the same consistency for India as well. It is a great day for him and his family who have had a long journey to finally reach this day. This is the time Sarfaraz will want to give one of his best performance and establish himself in the squad.
