Liverpool FC set to make move for Atalanta ace in January?

Liverpool FC is set to look to make a move for a young Dutch midfielder during the January Transfer window ahead of a busy period during the English Premier League season.

English Premier League table toppers Liverpool FC are looking to strengthen their squad in January. As per reports, the Merseyside club is looking to sign 25-year-old Dutch mid-fielder Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta.

Jurgen Klopp and his side have a busy few days ahead as they take on Norwich City in the FA Cup. This will be followed by a game against Chelsea at home before taking on Arsenal away from in the top of the table clash. 

Star striker Mohammad Salah meanwhile is a huge major injury concern for the Kops. The 31-year-old has got himself injured while playing for Egypt in the African Cup of Nations. As per reports, Salah could miss a few weeks to cause headaches to Jurgen Klopp and his team.  

Liverpool looking to buy a Dutch ace in January

As per reports doing the rounds, Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool side could make a move in the winter market. Teun Koopmeiners who is currently playing for Atalanta is the rumored player who is creating interest in Merseyside. 

The transfer price hasn’t been disclosed as yet but Atalanta could ask for a huge amount for the 25-year-old. Italian Clubs like Juventus and Napoli are also keen on the young Dutch sensation. Closer home, Liverpool could face competition from Newcastle United in a bid to land Koopmeiners. 

Atalanta has seen Teun Koopmeiners gain fame with his ability to create chances and play inside the box. In 82 games for Atalanta, Teun Koopmeiners has scored 18 times and provided a good amount of assists. 

Meanwhile, Mohammad Salah might miss up to a month of football after suffering an injury while on international duty. The 31-year-old tore his hamstring during the African Cup of Nations for his national side Egypt. 

Speaking about the situation, Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders has dropped a huge statement. “It is expected that he will return in three to four weeks if everything goes smoothly. It will go smooth and it will go right because of how we have treated his body”

The Liverpool assistant manager also added, “I always said before what I’m really happy about is the medical team of Egypt and the medical team of Liverpool worked together and were in close contact and both made this decision”. Salah is set to be back in Liverpool and work on his fitness in the coming few days.
