Cristiano Ronaldo

The football season is giving us a fair share of surprises with a lot of young players giving their best performances in the season. There has been a fair share of young players like Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, who have taken the football world by storm with their amazing goal-scoring ability. However, we cannot forget the great players who are still giving us consistent performances even if they are almost at the end of their careers and still uphold a massive fanbase. One of those big Football stars is Cristiano Ronaldo, who is still known as one of the most popular and greatest sportsmen of all time with his great performances in club and international football.

Cristiano Ronaldo Dos Santos Aveiro who has been known by many names such as Ron or CR7 started his professional career at the age of 16 playing for Sporting CP.  However, his breakthrough came when he started playing for Manchester United for whom he has scored over 100 goals. Ronald is one of the only two players to score over 850 goals in his career for both club and country. Champions League, Premier League, Laliga, Euro etc. all have been won by the 6 foot 2 inch Portuguese Giant known for his speed, agility and goal-scoring ability.

Ronaldo wins the Maradona Award

Ronaldo is currently playing in the Saudi Pro League for Al Nassr and still scoring goals in almost every game. With 54 goals in 59 appearances, he has bagged the prestigious Maradona award for best goalscorer in the Global Soccer Awards of 2023. He has outclassed the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland and Harry Kane who have been equally impressive for their respective teams. This shows that even at the age of 38 the man can still score goals for fun and is still an edge above everyone else.

This proves that Ronaldo is still at his peak and does not care about his age. The man still has the speed, agility and work ethic of a 20-year-old athlete and is still playing with the same energy. We do not know how long we can see Ronaldo play seeing that he is now at that certain age where most athletes might just give up their boots and retire. The fact that he is still playing at his peak and keeping fit is a great sign and we hope the fans will still consider him as a legend even after retirement.
