South Africa name squad for India series –
Aiden Markram will lead the South Africa team for the 3-match T20I and ODI series against India. The first T20 match will be played on December 10 before the ODI series takes place. Marco Jansen, Gerald Coetzee, and Lungi Ngidi have just been included for the first 2 T20 games.
Ottneil Baartman, Matthew Breetzke, and Nandre Burger have been called up to be included in the squad for the first time. The test squad has seen Nandre Burger and David Bedingham getting called up with Temba Bavuma set to lead the side. Rob Walters the South Africa coach said “After an excellent overall show at the ODI World Cup 2023 we want to capitalize on the momentum and continue building on our core group during the series”
The South African coach also said “We are looking forward to seeing what they can do, the likes of Nandre Burger, the leading wicket-taker in the One-Day Cup as well as Donovan Ferreira and Mihlali Mpongwana. We also have others back in the national fold such as Wiaan Mulder and Ottniel Baartman, so it is exciting to see how they will get on.
