Pakistan’s former vice-captain taken out in bizarre style after freakish injury in domestic T20 tournament

Pakistan Cricket has been going through turbulent times, since their ouster from the ODI World Cup 2023. Pakistan was considered as one of the favorites before the World Cup, failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament which brought the management of Pakistan under the radar. 

As a result of a mediocre show at a big global tournament Babar Azam who is Pakistan's batting mainstay had to step down from the captaincy and the entire management if the Pakistan team was sacked. Another casualty of the World Cup debacle was Pakistan’s former vice-captain – Shadab Khan who was also removed from his position after a poor show in the World Cup.

Bizzare scenes from Pakistan’s domestic tournament

It seems that Shadab Khan’s difficult times are still far from getting over. In a viral video he was seen carried out of the ground bizarrely. The talented all-rounder got injured while playing the National T-20 tournament which is Pakistan’s domestic T20 tournament. Everything was going well for Shadab Khan as he started well and only gave 7 runs in 2 overs. He bowled until he tripped on the ball while fielding during the match.

An unusual sight was witnessed as Shadab Khan was carried out of the field due to the unavailability of a stretcher or any other medical facility to carry him. Shadab Khan was unable to walk because of the injury. 

The video of Shadab Khan being lifted on the back of another player went viral in no time and many cricket fans and media covered it. While some chuckled, others questioned the lack of basic facilities at a domestic tournament. 

However, Shadab Khan’s updated the fans of his injury status and it was good news and it didn’t look anything serious after initial reports, but it is still uncertain that when can we see Shadab Khan back on the field.
