The Gujarat Giants made a substantial final bid of INR 2 Crore to secure the services of fast bowling-allrounder Kashvee Gautam in the Women's Premier League 2024 auction. Led by Beth Mooney, the Giants invested heavily in the Chandigarh pacer, notable for her ten-wicket haul in a one-day game against Arunachal Pradesh during the women's domestic Under-19 competition in 2020.

The 20-year-old, who achieved a hat-trick while taking 10 wickets, stands out as one of the most promising prospects in Indian women's cricket. Initially unsold in the previous year's WPL auction, scouts recommended that the tall Chandigarh native focus on increasing her pace. Subsequently, she has consistently demonstrated improvement and delivered top-notch performances in domestic cricket. The 20-year-old secured 12 wickets in seven games with an economy rate of 4.14 in the Senior Women's T20 Trophy.

In June, she played a pivotal role in India's victorious Under-23 squad at the ACC Emerging tournament in Hong Kong. Recently, Kashvee Gautam participated in the A series against England in Mumbai, contributing with three wickets in two matches for India A. With this substantial bid, fans eagerly anticipate witnessing Kashvee Gautam in the upcoming WPL season scheduled for February.

Vrinda Dinesh sold to UP Warriors for 1.3 Crores

After an extended anticipation, the day finally arrived when the five Women's Premier League franchises vied for the acquisition of top-performing female cricketers worldwide. The narrative echoed for the young talent Vrinda Dinesh, who struck gold in the Women's Premier League 2024 players' auction.

The UP Warriors franchise bagged her services for a significant sum of Rs 1.3 crore, a remarkable 13 times more than her base price of Rs 10 lakh. She etched her name in history, becoming the most expensive uncapped player as UP Warriorz made a record bid of Rs 1.3 crore.
