The first day of the final Test match at Cape Town between India and South Africa began with a horrid start for the hosts as they were bowled out for 55 runs. All the Indian bowlers were on the money in the first innings and were taking wickets at regular intervals. On the other hand, the South African batters struggled to get going at all. Their innings were filled with poor shots and inside edges on what looked like one of the best wickets to bat on. The Indians are now on the right track to win the game and save the series. It will also be interesting to see how the Indian batters will continue their innings as well.
There are all praises for the Indian bowlers who looked threatening right from the word go and were beating the bat multiple times. Mohammed Siraj was the man who started the onslaught and ended with his best figures in a Test innings with 6/15 in his 9 overs along with Jasprit Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar who took a couple of wickets each. This without any doubt is one of the best bowling performances by India especially against the South Africans in their home grounds.
Plans of Virat and Siraj
During the match, there was a moment where Mohammed Siraj and Virat Kohli who were standing in the slips were seen planning the dismissal of Marco Jansen. The former India skipper was seen signalling to Siraj to bowl a slightly fuller length to the batter. This plan was a success as Jansen was caught poking at the ball and edging it straight into the hands of the keeper KL Rahul who took an easy catch. This was a great presence of mind and communication from both the players and was also the wicket that got Mohammed Siraj to his fifer as well.

This shows the experience of both these players and how much they trust each other. Siraj is also part of Virat’s Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) as well and has played for the franchise for six years. This shows the level of knowledge and respect shown to each other by the pacer and legend. These were good scenes to watch and let's hope that this Test match will have the same positive impact as this magical wicket by Siraj that got him to his 3rd fifer in Test matches.
