WATCH: Crowd cheers for Virat Kohli after miraculous save at M Chinnaswamy Statium

The 3rd T20I in the India vs Afghanistan T20I series was one of the best games in the history of Indian cricket. The match did not start well for the hosts as the Afghanistan bowlers pegged the India batters at 22-4 in the 5th over of the powerplay and set the stage for a collapse. The India innings were finally saved by Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh who had put up a brilliant partnership of 190 for the 5th wicket as he got the hosts to a total of 212 where Rohit Sharma completed his 5th T20I century and Rinku Singh brought up his 2nd half-century for his country.

Afghanistan still fought hard with brilliant knocks from Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran and Gulbadin Naib along with a great cameo from Mohammad Nabi. They brought the visitors as close as they could to a total but eventually were able to draw the game and go to a super over. The first super over was bowled by Mukesh Kumar who gave 17 runs to which the Indians once again replied by drawing the game again in the over bowled by Azmatullah Omarzai. The 2nd super over only cost 11 runs which the Afghanistan batters failed to achieve due to a brilliant over by Ravi Bishnoi.

Virat becomes superman

Virat might not have contributed much with the bat in this game, but he still managed to be one of the main highlights of the game. In the 17th over bowled by Washington Sundar Karim Janat had slogged a half-tracker down the ground which looked like a six. However, Virat Kohli was the man who saved 5 runs by leaping into the air and saving an important boundary for the team on the boundary at long-on.

This was definitely one of the best fielding efforts from Virat Kohli under pressure, where at this point it looked like the Afghans might take the game away from them. This effort got the crowd up on its feet and chanting for Virat's name as loud as they could. This effort made the crowd awestruck as they witnessed one of the best saves from one of the best players in the world. This also shows us that how fielding can win you games when it matters the most.
