Babar Azam reacts to Saim Ayub dropping a sitter at first slip. A great batter like David Warner was given a reprieve at Sydney on the farewell Test match. The Southpaw went on to add 19 more runs from there as Australia got a good start for their innings despite playing in overcast conditions, which were ideal for pace bowling. It was a regular day at the office in Pakistan.
The fielding from the fielders of Pakistan and in particular their slip-catching in the cordon was not good. A prime example of the same was the dropped catch from Saim Ayub against David Warner. It was one of the most important wickets of the innings for Pakistan. But they ended up dropping it which luckily did not prove to be as costly.

It was a good length delivery from Aamer Jamal who put an effort to plan the dismissal of David Warner. Jamal went around the wicket and continuously asked the batter to drive the ball. Throughout the spell, Jamal had won over Warner. The right-arm pacer was just unlucky to not get Warner in the spell. He had to blame the fielder as well for not claiming an easy catch.
Rain interrupts play on Day 2
Warner tried to drive the ball towards the covers region at Sydney. But the ball caught the outside edge of the willow and travelled towards the first slip. The ball had enough carry and it was a dolly for Ayub. But the fielder was not attentive and ended up dropping it to the dismay of the bowler and Babar Azam. The change was as simple as it could get. But it was not grabbed.
Babar was dismayed looking at the inability of the youngster to claim the catch. It was so frustrating for Babar that such an easy catch was not claimed. Warner ended up with a score of 39 runs. The play halted after lunch as the rain interrupted the play. Australia ended the day with a score of 113/2. Pakistan has a lot of work to do.
