Ruturaj Gaikwad set to miss Test series against India
As for the forthcoming two-match Test series versus South Africa, the Indian Cricket Board indicated on Saturday that Ruturaj Gaikwad will not be playing. India and South Africa will play two Tests in this upcoming series. The first will start on Boxing Day at the Centurion, and the second on January 3 in Cape Town.
During the second One-Day International (ODI) match at Gqeberha versus South Africa, Gaikwad was injured on his right ring finger. After he had scans, the Medical Team decided he couldn't continue the tour after consulting with an expert. The team has announced Abhimanyu Easwaran as Gaikwad's successor.
An Indian Cricket Board statement read that, "He will be reporting to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for further management of his injury. The Men's Selection Committee has named Abhimanyu Easwaran as his replacement,"
