There was a time in history where the Indians used to struggle to find fast bowlers who can perform in overseas and Indian conditions. However, the story today is different since the pace bowling category has suddenly given us some exceptional bowlers. The likes of Kapil Dev who created the platform of Indian pacers has been growing from strength to strength. Now there are many Indian pacers who have been known globally all over the world. Bowlers like Zaheer Khan, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj are some of the notable names that has brought Indian pacers to a whole different level in this current scenario.
There is one Indian seamer who has also been in the reckoning of being one of the best pacers produced by the Indian team. The talent and exuberance of Mohammed Shami is something that every aspiring fast bowler will be proud of. With over 400 international wickets already and being the leading wicket taker in World Cup last year he has reached new heights in the sport. The 33-Year-old Arjun Awardee known for his brilliant seam bowling with both the new and the old ball has made it a habit of taking wickets in every game he features in and in any format he plays.
Shami picks his best batters
For a bowler like Shami who is known to make the batters life difficult with his art of seam bowling, what is the most interesting question is that who he thinks is the best batter. In an interview with News18 the seasoned Indian paceman has finally answered the question saying “ Virat Kohli is the best batsman in the world. Virat has just broken a lot of records. I feel Virat is the best.” He also went on to further say that Rohit Sharma is the most dangerous batter in the world as well. These are the honest words from Shami since both these batters have been one of the best players in the Indian team for years.
There might be a lot of people who will not completely agree with this statement and might be thinking it is an Indian biased answer, but you cannot ignore the fact that what the two batters have achieved in their career has been absolutely phenomenal. This shows the amount of respect Shami has for these batters and knows what they are capable of when they are at their peak. Rohit and Virat are currently the only current batters who have scored more than 15000 runs in international cricket and are still in the thick of things in international cricket right now.
