In order to attain goals in life, the legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar stated it is crucial to be aware of and rigorous about fitness. He said that he received numerous offers to advertise tobacco products but turned them all down. Following his Tuesday appointment as the "Smile Ambassador" for the Maharashtra government's Swachh Mukh Abhiyan (SMA), an oral hygiene programme, he was speaking at a gathering. Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra, and Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister, attended the campaign's inauguration.
My father told me never to promote tobacco products: Sachin Tendulkar
Sachin Tendulkar spoke about the time when people used to approach him with such advertisements and his reason behind declining them. He said, "When I started playing for India, I had just come out of school. I started getting many advertisement offers but my father told me never to promote tobacco products. I got many such offers but never accepted any of them."
The 50-year-old spoke about the importance of fitness in his life and why it should always be a priority for athletes in any field. He said, "I used to play a lot as a child, but was fascinated by cricket. As I grew older, I became more aware about the need to be disciplined about my fitness since I realised that it won't be possible to achieve your goals if you are not fit."
Sachin Tendulkar then spoke about how fitness has become a trend and that people should also focus on other aspects like oral diseases and take care of them sooner rather than later. He said, “Fifty per cent of the children have oral diseases, and it impacts their life. But nobody is bothered about it. Such a thing can damage their confidence."
The Indian Dental Association (IDA) has launched a nationwide oral hygiene campaign to promote good oral health, hygiene, and awareness among Indians.
