The 2023 ODI World Cup has officially begun with the first game on Thursday. New Zealand and England are playing each other in the opening encounter. The Indian Cricket team will start their campaign this Sunday.
Rohit Sharma and his men will take on Australia in their opening encounter. The blockbuster campaign is set to be played in Chennai. There is massive excitement ahead of the huge game as both teams are strong contenders for the title.
Just like Cricket, there is a massive fan following and support for World Wrestling Entertainment in India. The biggest names from the professional wrestling world had a message for the Indian team ahead of the 2023 ODI World Cup.
Drew McIntyre leads the charge in wishing Indian Cricket Team
World Wrestling Entertainment recently was in India for a special called ‘Superstar Spectacle’. The likes of John Cena, Seth Rollins, Rhea Ripley, Drew McIntyre, Sami Zayn, and Kevin Owens were part of the ensemble cast.

The wrestlers in question sent out their best wishes for the Indian Cricket Team for the 2023 ODI World Cup. Social media witnessed a short video being circulated on Twitter where Drew McIntyre can be seen leading the wishes for the men in blue.
This was followed by Rhea Ripley, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Jinder Mahal, and Bron Brekker voicing their support. The video ended with the Scottish wrestler saying that if Rohit played like the 2019 World Cup India could go on to win the tournament. There were also words of encouragement for Virat Kohli and Surya Kumar Yadav by Drew McIntyre.
India and Australia have clashed 12 times in World Cup history, with Australia winning 8. The Indian team has won on four occasions with the latest being the game in the 2019 ODI World Cup. The Australians had famously beaten the Indian team led by Sourav Ganguly in a one-side 2003 ODI World Cup final.
This might very well be the last World Cup for some of the biggest names in Indian cricket. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin will be eager to win the third title for the nation. Virat Kohli and Ashwin are the only surviving members of the famous triumph in Mumbai 12 years ago.
