Rohit Sharma faced a thumb injury in the 2nd ODI against Bangladesh. Despite his painful injury, however, he came onto bat in the dying embers of the game and took Team India almost across the finish line.

In the end, however, India lost the match and with it the series as well. In the post-match conference, Indian captain Rohit Sharma accredited injuries to the team’s loss. Sharma, along with Kuldeep Sen and Deepak Chahar have been the recent additions to a long list of injury list that consists of Jasprit Bumrah as well as Ravindra Jadeja.

“There are definitely a few injury concerns. We need to try and get to the bottom of it. It is something we have to look at. We have to sit with our team back home at the NCA as well and try and monitor their workload, “ said Rohit Sharma after their 2-0 loss against Bangladesh. Former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg however doesn’t look much impressed with Sharma’s reasoning.

In a video posted on his Instagram handle, Brad Hogg said, “If you want the gold, you want the riches, you’ve got to do the dirty work, have the discipline. That’s watching what you eat and the exercises that you do and the amount of work you’ve got to do to prepare for the next tournament.”

Don't blame the system- Brad Hogg

He shared an example of how one should prepare for a Test match that is scheduled just after a 20-20 tournament.

“For example - If you are playing in the T20 tournament and you know that you have got a Test match coming up two weeks later, you’ve got to bowl more overs at training to make sure your workloads are up. Don’t blame the system, look at yourself, " said the former cricketer.

India’s third ODI against Bangladesh would be an opportunity for the young players to prove their mantle now that the series is already lost. India begins their Test series against Bangladesh on December 14th.
