Serena Williams and Venus Williams will reunite once again for the doubles with their eyes set on the US Open 2022 title as they get a wildcard entry to the tournament. The duo have been considerably successful as a pair and not to rule out Serena William's success in the singles event as well. The pair has some tremendous history as they have won the Olympics golds in doubles three times together in 2000, 2008 and 2012.
The success rate is quite high when they unite together and this will be the first instance of them joining hands since 2018 Roland Garros. They have also won the US Open twice in doubles. The Williams pair is successful as they have won all four major titles in doubles. They won Wimbledon in 2009, the US Open in 2009, the Australian Open in 2010, and the French Open in 2010.
A heartwarming moment will follow the US Open stint as Serena Williams earlier announced that she'll hang up her boots to concentrate on parenthood. She added that she was contemplating on the decision for a while and opined that she had to take it with both hands in a cover tale published by Vogue.
"If I were an individual, I would not be composing this since I’d be around playing as well as winning while my other half was doing the physical labour of broadening our household. Maybe I’d be more of a Tom Brady if I had that opportunity," she revealed in the cover tale earlier.
"I’ve been thinking of this as a transition, but I want to be sensitive about how I use that word, which means something very specific and important to a community of people. Maybe the best word to describe what I’m up to is evolution. I’m here to tell you that I’m evolving away from tennis, toward other things that are important to me," Williams added further in her tale for Vogue.
