In a cover tale for Vogue publication, Serena Williams has opened up about her choices and retirement. The veteran star clarified it in the Vogue publication released on Tuesday. The 41-year-old legend is one of the best of the era and there is no need even to mention her fan base.

The 23-time Grand Slam winner revealed that she would be more of a Tom Brandy if she had the opportunity to be an individual. “If I were an individual, I would not be composing this since I'd be around playing as well as winning while my other half was doing the physical labour of broadening our household. Maybe I'd be more of a Tom Brady if I had that opportunity,” Williams added.

The legendary tennis star did not give a specific time for her retirement. But it can well be speculated that it might come after the US Open. “And I don’t understand if I will certainly prepare to win New York. But I’m most likely to try,” Williams added further. These lines vouch for the fact that her retirement might as well come after the US Open.

The Michigan-born star opined that she wants to concentrate next on her spiritual path and be a great mother. She added that she will relish the next few weeks. But once she puts down her tennis racket, the world will start missing one of the greatest to have ever graced the sport.

"I went from a C-section to a 2nd lung embolism to a conquest last. I played while breastfeeding. I played with postpartum clinical depression. Yet I really did not arrive,” Williams said about her medical issues. She added that she could have won more titles despite the issues.

Former champion John McEnroe opined that Serena Williams will go down as one of the best players to have played the game. “She's like one of the all-time greatest athletes in the history of any sport -- male or female. It seems to be a great place in her life. She's added a lot," McEnroe was quoted as saying.
