In a thrilling final, the Puneri Paltan defeated the Haryana Steelers with a score of 28-25, securing their first-ever title in the Pro Kabaddi League 2024! This victory capped off a dominant season for Pune, who finished the league stages with the highest points (96). The electrifying match took place at the iconic GMC Balayogi Sports Complex in Hyderabad which left the fans on the edge of their seats.
Pankaj Mohite and Mohit Goyat were the stars of the match as Puneri Paltan etched their name in the annals of kabaddi history with a resounding 28-25 victory over their formidable opponents. Mohite, in particular, played a crucial role by scoring a total of nine points throughout the game, giving Pune a crucial lead throughout the match.
From the onset, Puneri Paltan showcased their dominance, with Pankaj Mohite emerging as the spearhead of their attack. Mohite's sheer brilliance on the mat was evident from the start as he amassed five crucial points early in the game, propelling Pune to a narrow 13-10 lead in the first half.
Puneri Paltan's defense played really well
While Pankaj Mohite was the star scorer for Puneri Paltan, their victory wouldn't have been possible without their amazing defense. Led by their captain Aslam Inamdar, the entire Puneri Paltan team played great defense, stopping the Haryana Steelers' attacks with smart blocks and tackles. Two key moments that showed their defensive strength were Sanket Sawant's important tackle and Pankaj Mohite's impressive 4-point raid, which helped Puneri Paltan control the game.
Furthermore, the Pro Kabaddi League awarded a massive prize pool of INR 8 crore this season. Most of this money, 7.5 crore rupees, went to the top 6 teams based on how well they played throughout the season. This way, the league encourages all teams to play their hardest and supports successful teams.
