The PKL season 10 will be coming to an end on the 1st of March. The final match will be between Puneri Paltan and Haryana Steelers. Both these teams will be going after their first PKL title. The Paltan will be wanting to finally get their hands on the title after a narrow loss to the Jaipur Pink Panthers last season. The Haryana Steelers on the other hand will make the most of their debut final as well. We are on for a thrilling contest in this final.
Before we bid adieu to this season, let us take a look at some of the stars as well. There is no doubt that every player in the playing squad is important, but we will be talking about the players who enter the playing field. The Raiders are the maximum point-makers in the league. They are the ones to step into the line of fire and get as many points as they can. There have been some exceptional raiders this season who have made raiding points and bonuses look easy.
So, here are the Top 5 raiders in the Pro Kabaddi League this season:
5. Narender Kandola (Tamil Thalaivas)
The Tamil Thalaivas had not had the best of seasons this time. They finished 9th on the table with just 9 wins and 13 losses. The only silver lining in their team was Narender Kandola. The 23-year-old raider from Haryana played a huge role in most of the wins for his team. Kandola went on to get 186 raid points in the 21 games he has played. Tamil Thalaivas may have faced a lot of disappointment this season, but they could still appreciate the performance of Kandola in the tournament.
4. Maninder Singh (Bengal Warriors)
The Bengal Warriors just about failed to make it to the Eliminators this season. There might have been a slight inconsistency on their side, but they will still be happy with the efforts of Maninder Singh. The 34-year-old veteran was the heart and soul of the Warriors. He was also their top raider scoring 197 points from 21 matches. He was the one who was putting the Bengal Warriors in contention for the playoffs. Maninder’s experience was one of the major highlights of the team which they will be building around next season.
3. Pawan Sehrawat (Telugu Titans)
The Telugu Titans might have had their worst season ever this season finishing last in the table. However, they will still be happy with the performance of their most expensive player. Pawan Sehrawat once again proved his worth for the side. The star all-rounder still managed to score 202 points from the 21 games this season. Sehrawat was one of the valuable and impactful players for the Titans, it is just a shame that the team could not perform to his standards. This was still another world-class performance from Sehrawat this season and it should be no surprise that he be retained by the side next year.
2. Ashu Malik (Dabang Delhi KC)
Dabang Delhi KC had an exceptional season this year. They managed to finish third in the table with 79 points on the board. One of the star performers for them was none other than Ashu Malik. The young raider was phenomenal in the tournament, where he was scoring points for fun even against some of the best defenders in the world. Ashu Malik went on to have the joint-highest raid points with 276 points in 23 games. This was a great season for the youngster who was not afraid to compete against the best.
1. Arjun Deshwal (Jaipur Pink Panthers)
Arjun Deshwal once again proved to be the best player in the Jaipur Pink Panthers side. The two-time PKL winners have been lucky to have his assistance this season as well. Deshwal who is known for his aggressive raiding style was ruthless, scoring points for fun. He managed to have the highest raid points in the league in the 23 games he played. Even in the narrow loss to the Haryana Steelers in the semifinal, he was still a star performer and is set to be one of the greatest raiders in the world.
