The 2nd Test in the Australia vs West Indies series was one of the best games to watch where the Gabba was once again breached by a young and spirited West Indies team. This was a match that had its own twists and turns where both sides were in the game and were fighting for an important win. For West Indies, it was a do-or-die game where they needed to win this game and the Aussies were looking for another whitewash. This game will be remembered by everyone as the greatest Test match they have ever witnessed on Australian soil.

The West Indies were put into bat and had a bit of a collapse in the start losing half their side for just 64 runs on the board. However, the handy knocks from Kavem Hodge, Joshua Da Silva and Kevin Sinclair were enough to get the West Indies out of trouble and achieve a respectable total of 311 on the board.

The Australians in reply also struggled with the bat and were 54-5 at one stage, but were also saved by gritty innings from Usman Khawaja, Alex Carey and Pat Cummins and reduced the lead of the West Indies to just 22 runs. West Indies were once again all out for just 193, but once again came back with the ball and got the Australians bowled out for 207 winning the game by 8 runs and leaving Steven Smith stranded on 91.

The West Indies pacers on song

The West Indies fast bowlers were the heroes of this historic Test match and will remember this game for a long time. The pace attack was the reason for the major collapses in the series with Kemar Roach and Alzarri Joseph getting the better of the Aussie batters in the 1st innings and Shamar Joseph being the talisman in the 2nd innings. The pacers combined had taken 17 wickets in the game making it tough for the Australian batters. The spell from Shamar Joseph was one of the best spells you will ever see by a West Indies bowler on Australian soil where he took 7/68 and just destroyed the mighty Australian batting lineup.

This performance from Kraigg Brathwaite and his boys is one of the most memorable Test matches seen by a West Indies cricket fan, where they beat Australia for the first time in a Day/Night Test and got a win down under after 21 years. This will be a great moment where the West Indies Cricket team have finally found some great heroes in the making in the form of Shamar Joseph, Kavem Hodge and Kevin Sinclair. It will be interesting to see what this young West Indies team have in store for us in the future as well.
