The Test series between India and South Africa is set to begin on the 26 December at Centurion. The Indians are still looking for a Test series victory at the Proteas home turf which has eluded them since 1992. In fact, out of 12 Test matches India have only won 4. This is perhaps the only nation India has not dominated completely. After winning the ODI series, they will look to go in with the same confidence with Rohit Sharma leading the side this time. Will they create history or will South Africa get the better of them again like they did in the past?

Rohit Sharma is already battling some emotions after failing to lift the World Cup. This series win will give them some redemption after the heartbreaking loss. Rohit will look to give his best in this series with some big players back in the mix as well. This will be the test for any Indian cricketer who is looking to create history and beat the odds at the Rainbow Nation. All eyes will be on them to finally give an incredible performance in South Africa.

Rohit Sharma at the press conference

Rohit Sharma has made it clear in his statements regarding the Test series and World Cup in the press conference he has stated “we've never won a Test series in South Africa if we win the series, I don't know if it can compensate for the World Cup loss. World Cup is a World Cup, we can't compare.” this is a good choice of words from the India skipper who is not hyping this series to be as big as the World Cup and will choose to go about this like just another series.

Rohit should not be criticised for losing the World Cup as it was still a great performance where the team went unbeaten for 10 games straight before losing out on the finals. This will still be a great achievement if India go on to win this Series and finally beat South Africa in South Africa. It should be a positive outlook by the team going into the series after great performances in the white ball formats. Every fan will hope that India will prove to everyone why they are a top international side.
