The first T20I between India and South Africa in Durban gets washed out due to rain. The match at Kingsmead was not possible due to the interruption of rain gods. There was not a single ball being bolwed in the match. In fact, the intensity of rain was so huge that even toss was not possible to be held in the middle. It was such a day in Durban where there were gloomy faces all around.

The players waited all the day for the start of the match. The fans who had arrived to watch the match despite the forecast not being so favorable were disappointed. The Indian players tried to spend some time waiting for the match to start by playing some indoor games. Some of them waited for the rain to stop. Eventually, rain had the final say on the match.

The Indian players seemed excited to start the series on a good note. The Indian captain looked forward to playing in South Africa for the first time in his favorite format. Suryakumar Yadav had claimed before the match that the players are looking forward tp carry forward their fearless approach towards the series in Africa. It seems as if they have to wait for two more days.

Action to start in Port Elizabeth

As the match got abandoned in Durban, the action will now move to Port Elizabeth, where the second T20I is scheduled to happen. The two sides will play the match at St George's Oval. The teams would be hoping to get to play the match without any interruption. On the 12th of December, the match is set to take place at 8:30 PM (IST).

Many players from the Indian team would be looking forward to performing in the series, as the pitches in the West Indies and the USA would be similar to those in South Africa. The youngsters in the side would not get many opportunties from here to perform at the international level before the T20 World Cup 2024 would begin in June.
