The first innings of the 2nd Test of the India vs England series has resulted in India getting a massive lead of 143 going into the second innings of the game. The Indians are now in control of this game after getting the visitors all out for 253 runs on the board. This is also one of those rare moments where none of the England batters could get to that big score. Only Zack Crawley and skipper Ben Stokes were the ones who played the decent knocks. The Indian bowlers might have been struggling in the start of the England innings, but have come back well with the ball.

The Indians still have another big task on their hands as they have to take advantage of this big lead and set a big target on the board for the England batters. With three days to go after this game, the England team will also feel that they can still come back in this game and shock the Indians like they did in the previous match. However, this Vizag wicket does not seem to offer as much turn as the one in Hyderabad, and this might be tough for the England side playing with only one pace bowler in their team.

Jasprit Bumrah does it again

The man of the moment for India with the ball was India’s fast bowling superstar Jasprit Bumrah, who bowled another great spell to bowl out the England batters. He used the slow nature of the pitch really well and ended with great figures of 6/45 in 15.5 overs. Even though the pitch did not offer as much bounce and movement for Bumrah, it didn’t seem to affect his rhythm at all. The big wickets of Ollie Pope, Joe Root and Ben Stokes was what put the Indians back into the match. There were some brilliant Jaffa’s bowled by Bumrah in this spell which also includes the in swinging yorker to get rid of Pope.

This is an example of what Bumrah is capable of in every format of the game, where he can take wickets at regular intervals and put the opposition under pressure. Bumrah is currently the leading wicket taker of the series after this tremendous spell and he has shown once again why he is currently one of the greatest bowlers in the world. He has established himself in the longer format once again and the 30-year-old pacer will be the player to watch out for in the next few games of the series as well.
