The India vs Afghanistan T2oI series is all set to be played at the IS Bindra Stadium at Mohali. The fans are eager to see the return of Rohit Sharma and Virat kohli in the shortest format. Rohit Sharma is also leading the side after a long break from the format. The men in blue’s squad looks solid with the perfect mix and balance of players. There are experienced players in the form of Sanju Samson, Axar Patel and Kuldeep yadav and some young and exciting players in the form of Rinku Singh, Yashasavi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill and Tilak Varma. They are all set to play the fearless Afghans who are known for surprising big teams in the past.

The people were also set to watch Virat in this format after taking a 2 year break from it. There is no doubt that Virat is also one of the leading run scorers in this format as well with over 4000 runs at an average of 52.73 in T20I’s and over 11500 runs in T20’s overall. His inclusion in the squad has made fans interested in his return after 14 months where he last played a T20I game in the 2022 World Cup against England. However the people will still have to wait for his return.

Unfortunately, Virat will not feature in the 1st T20I vs Afghanistan which has made fans upset as they were excited to see the return of the king himself. The Indian Cricket board has not given any reason regarding this decision as well. There will be a lot of rumours following this surprising turn of events. Virat will still feature in  the next two fixtures, but the people are still trying to find a reason behind this decision of excluding one of the best batters in the world.

Whatever the reason might be for Virat to miss out in the first game, the fans will still see him return for the next two games. This might have shocked all the fans and expert, who were expecting to see another masterclass from the former India skipper. It might not be in the upcoming match but Virat will still be back and the fans and experts will be chanting his name as soon as he steps into the field. There might be a lot of reasons for this decision which we will eventually get to know, but its more important to know that he will be missing only 1 game.
