The Indian Cricket Board secretary Jay Shah who is also the President of the Asian Cricket Council is expected to resign from the latter in order to contest for the position of the Apex Governing Council Chairman in November. If he gets elected, then he will be the third Indian to become the Chairman of the Apex Governing Council after N Srinivasan and Shashank Manohar.

Recently Jay Shah was awarded the Sports Business Leader of the Year Award at the CII Sports Business Awards 2023. The Indian Cricket Board posted on its social media handle about the news. They tweeted on X: “CONGRATULATIONS to the Indian Cricket Board Honorary Secretary @JayShah on being awarded the Sports Business Leader of the Year Award at the @FollowCII Sports Business Awards 2023. A first for any leader in Indian Sports administration, this recognition is truly deserved!”

Jay Shah's tenure as the Secretary of the Indian Cricket Board has been a commendable one so far where he has achieved some ground-breaking results in the past year which has not only taken Indian cricket in the right direction but also elevated the position of cricket as a global sport in the world.
