The Australian Open has almost come to an end with the two finalists already decided to win the much-awaited grand slam. There have been a lot of great tennis players who have shown their talent on the big stage playing among the best players in the world. One of the Men’s single finalist is already been decided in the form of Jannick Sinner, who has currently made it to his first Grand Slam final in the Australian open. The 22-year- old Italian is one of the upcoming talents and world number 4 in the ATP rankings and will want to make the most of it in a quest of winning his maiden grand slam.
Sinner has been giving great performances in his career, but a Grand Slam victory has been eluding for a long time now. He had made it to the quarter finals of the French Open where he lost to Rafael Nadal in three straight sets in 2020. He finally made it to another quarter finals in the US Open in 2022 once again where he lost an intense match against another Spaniard who was none other than Carlos Alcaraz. With all hopes broken in that match, the Italian still came back with great performances in the Wimbledon last year, but unfortunately lost against the world class Novak Djokovic in the semifinals.
Beating the best to earn his first final
This is Sinner’s first Grand slam final which he reached after getting his redemption on Djokovic in the semi-finals. Sinner dominated the world number 1 in the first two sets winning them 6-1 and 6-2 putting Djokovic under pressure straight away. The third set still saw the Serbian come back winning the all-important tie breaker which got him back in the game, however Sinner still came back in the final set winning 6-3 to win the match and make it to his first ever grand slam final which he will play with either Daniil Medvedev or Alexander Zverev.
This will be heart breaking for all the Djoko fans, but it was still great to see Sinner get his revenge after the Wimbledon semi-final. He will be hungry and determined to get his hands on the prize and finally get a Grand slam victory. These are great times for the young tennis player and a great opportunity for him. He will be confident after beating one of the best in the world in the Australian Open semi-final. His eyes will be on the prize which he has been trying to win for a long time and will want to be successful in this one.
