Oval Invincibles and Trent Rockets came head-to-head against each other in match 17 of The Hundred 2022. The Invincibles' captain Sam Billings won the toss and elected to field first. . Alex Hales and Dawid Malan got off to a flying start. Alex Hales scored twenty runs off Sam Curran's over with two sixes and two fours to take the total to forty-eight.

Mohammad Hasnain deceived Alex Hales after a blitzkrieg fifty from the batter. A six from Dawid Malan off Matt Milnes' ball took the team's total past the one-hundred mark. Kohler-Cadmore and Malan carried on with their onslaught until Sunil Narine got rid of the latter for 38 runs. A quick 24 and 23 from Lewis Gregory and Colin Munro took the team closer to the 170-mark. Trent Rockets ended up scoring 181 for the loss of four wickets in hundred balls.

Jason Roy and Will Jacks opened the innings for the Invincibles. The duo looked confident in chasing the mighty target. The 2019 World Cup champion has bagged three ducks in the last four innings. However, he managed to reach the 20-run mark before he perished.

Will Jacks got out for eleven off nine balls. Skipper Sam Billings bagged a duck. The Invincibles' were reduced to 42/3 from 41/1 in a span of three balls. Sam Curran and Jordan Cox joined hands aiming to go big. Samit Patel deceived Sam Curran for 27 runs off nineteen balls. The West Indian star Sunil Narine tried his hand with his bat alongside Jordan Cox.

The Duo looked unstoppable and managed to find gaps quite easily. Sam Cook's penultimate over proved too costly for the Rockets as he conceded two sixes and a boundary. The penultimate over helped the Invincibles to inch closer to the target. However, it wasn't enough as they required 29 runs off the last over. The green team managed to score only three runs and ended up losing Sunil Narine's wicket in the final over.

Trent Rockets bagged the two points as they defeated Oval Invincibles by twenty-five runs.
