Jasprit Bumrah's back issues seem to be a never ending issue for India cricket. He has already been ruled out of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, along with the upcoming edition of the Indian T20 League and the possible Test championship final. He is a key figure in the Indian line-up and his loss would be a big one for the Indian team because of the quality he offers to the team.
What is next for Jasprit Bumrah?
Bumrah may travel abroad for the necessary operation to heal his back problem. A New Zealand surgeon who has previously treated well-known athletes like Jofra Archer and James Pattinson has been identified by the medical staff of the Indian Cricket Board and the managers of the National Cricket Academy (NCA), according to a report by Cricbuzz.
In the upcoming weeks, Bumrah will be operated on by Rowan Schouten. The Christchurch-based expert is regarded as one of the best in his industry and has previously collaborated with Grahame Inglis. There is no official confirmation regarding this news but there are reports that Bumrah will surely undergo surgery to fix this issue once and for all.
Being a renowned orthopaedic surgeon, Inglis has treated several athletes, including Shane Bond, who was injured himself and is now the bowling coach for the Mumbai franchise. Recently, Schouten helped Inglis during the surgeries on Jason Behrendorff, Ben Dwarshuis, and James Pattinson.
According to the report, plans are also being put in place to send Bumrah to Auckland as soon as feasible. The recuperation period is estimated to last between 20 and 24 weeks, which raises the possibility that he could be unable to compete in the Test Championship in England should India advance.
Bumrah is reportedly the the Indian Board's top priority for the 50 over World Cup in late 2023. It will be difficult for him to play and adjust before the major tournament in the window between November and December because he is also expected to miss the Asia Cup in September.

Wishing him steady recovery. His problem must be dealt with on a long-term basis and his further career should be charted out around his fitness. The Indian team management should however move on, with the hope that he would be back firing on all cylinders.

They might follow Bhuvi's way, even if they are back they might not be back to their peak, so we might have already seen the peak of Bumrah, Pant, Virat, Rohit.
Time for next generation to take over.
No Bumrah

No Pant
Indian cricket is predicted to be boring this year already
Hoping for a fun IPL, WTC win & a successful WC for India, that should be enough even if we don’t win the bilaterals
Unpopular opinion- Bumrah should have stopped playing IPL when pandemic started. Even BCCI should have stopped him by giving him lucrative deal. I am not judging him, it's about your health and body no one should go through what he is. And for that you have to make sacrifices.

First time a star will miss IPL because of genuine injury. Otherwise it was just the opposite, ruling out playing for the country because of Injury but no issues playing IPL.

This sounds even more concerning. What exactly even resulted in that injury in the first place?
