'Sahi kiya' - Fans react as Pakistan anchor Zainab Abbas' World Cup contract gets terminated midway due to hate speech on social media

Cricket News: Pakistan anchor Zainab Abbas' old tweets went viral on the internet, which received flak from India. As a lawyer registered a complaint, her ODI World Cup 2023 contract of Zainab got terminated midway.

The Pakistani anchor Zainab Abbas has left India as her contract for taking part in the ODI World Cup 2023 in India was terminated midway due to a complaint registered by a Supreme Court lawyer. The move has come following the viral tweets which were posted by Zainab in the past against a religion. The lawyer Vineet Jindal had filed a complaint against Zainab regarding the same.

On the 4th of October, Jindal registered a complaint on Zainab. In the complaint, Jindal wrote that Zainab made anti-India and Hinduphobic statements. Jindal took to X and wrote about the complaint he made on Zainab to the Cyber cell of Delhi police. Jindal wrote that an FIR had to be filed against Zainab under sections 295, 153A, 506, sec 67 IT, and 121 IPC. 

Jindal added that the remarks of Zainab were unforgivable and asked the Pakistani presenter to be removed from the panel of presenters from the ODI World Cup 2023. Following the registration of the complaint, the Delhi Cyber police took action and ordered the midway termination of Zainab's contract in the ODI World Cup 2023. The past actions of Zainab have come to haunt her.

Past tweets come back to haunt the Pakistani presenter 

In the past, Zainab had made hate speeches on Hindus on social media. Although they were later deleted by her, the tweets have resurfaced following her participation in the ODI World Cup in India as a presenter. One of those tweets read "This 120 crore population can’t produce one fast bowler. Eat some f*c*ing meat u shud shakaharis."

The statement of Zainab clearly took a jab at Hindus. In another tweet, Zainab had written "..true it does Man went Delhi, and it smells of cow piss. Oops, that’s their maa Kaali maa." In the past, there was huge outrage over Zainab for the same. Now that the tournament is happening in India, the Indian citizens seem to have taught Zainab a lesson. Zainab travelled to Dubai stating safety issues in India.
