In the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, India's pace attack has been its biggest strength. The trio of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammad Siraj has been phenomenal throughout the ongoing tournament. They have clinched 41 wickets in the ongoing tournament. Their bowling strike rate and economy have been the best among all participating players.

However, former India skipper Sourav Ganguly still doesn't feel that the current trio is the best for India to date. While speaking with a renowned media house, Ganguly said that 2003 World Cup pacers Zaheer Khan, Javagal Srinath, and Ashish Nehra also bowled similarly. He also said that Mohammed Shami should have started for India in the tournament.

"I can't say this is the best-ever Indian pace attack to date. In the 2003 World Cup, Ashish Nehra, Zaheer  Kha, and Jagagal Srinath also bowled brilliantly," Ganguly told Sports Tak. "But yeah, it's exciting to see Bumrah, Shami, and Siraj bowl. It's a big difference when you have Bumrah. There's pressure from both ends, as it is always about bowing in pairs. Bumrah makes a massive impact on the other two as well," he added.

Will India rest key players against the Netherlands?

In their last league game of the tournament, India will take on the Netherlands at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Ahead of a crucial semifinal game against New Zealand, Indian team management might look to rest some key players, including pacers. Team management will also want to test bench strength ahead of crucial games.

Meanwhile, skipper Rohit Sharma is likely to lead the team, as he will be looking to convert starts into big runs. However, the team might rest batters like Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill to test benched players like Ishan Kishan and Ravichandran Ashwin. It's worth noting that India will face New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 15 for the ticket to the final.
