Shocking news awaits the fans of Pakistan. The chief selector of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Inzamam-ul-Haq, who was elected just before the Asia Cup 2023, has resigned from his post. The reason behind Inzamam's decision is 'Clash of interest'. It is nothing but the persons at the highest post in Pakistan's sports organisations could not be holding a post in other organisations. 

Inzamam has been a shareholder in a company named 'Yazo International Limited'. It belongs to a player agent named Talha Rehmani. The player agent represents several key players of Pakistan like Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and others. It has sparked controversy regarding the clash of interests. It has raised questions regarding Inzamam's selection process in his tenure till now. 

On Monday morning, Inzaman decided to resign from his post all of a sudden. The move came following his conversations with personnel in the Pakistan Cricket Board. The reports suggest that there were many financial implications between Inzamam and Pakistan's board. Reportedly, Pakistan's board might have to pay Inzamam a sum of 15 million PKR, which translates to 2.5 million Indian rupees. 

Pakistan fans worry about the future of cricket 

Apart from Inzamam's shares in 'Yazo International Limited', there is also another involvement of a prominent Pakistan player. Rizwan co-owns the exact firm in Pakistan. It has further led to doubts over the selection process of the team. Before the selection for the ODI World Cup, there were a lot of complaints from the players regarding the board's central contract. Many of the agents from Inzamam's side reportedly boycotted commercial activities.

The decision of Inzamam has probably not come at the right time for Pakistan cricket. Off the field, there has been a lot of noise around the Pakistan team. Babar Azam's WhatsApp conversations were leaked by Zaka Ashraf on Live TV. There is a huge criticism about Babar's captaincy. Players are being blamed for their performance in the ODI World Cup 2023. The resignation of Inzamam has only increased worry among Pakistan fans.
