'Jaisa player utne hi value ka question' - Fans react to question on Rinku Singh's IPL 2023 record popping up on Kaun Banega Crorepati episode

A question was asked on the TV Show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' regarding the orange cap winner in the 2023 season of the IPL.

The recent episodes of the TV show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ have become famous among the cricket audience. A couple of questions in the latest episodes hosted by the legendary superstar, Amitabh Bachchan, are related to cricket. There was a question asked about Rinku Singh’s 5 sixes in the last over against Yash Dayal against Gujarat Titans during the 2023 season of the IPL.  

The new question which is doing rounds on social media is about the question regarding the highest run scorer of the 2023 season of the Indian Premier League. It was a question for INR 40,000 asked about the orange cap holder of the 2023 season of the IPL. The question read “Who won the orange cap for most runs in the 2023 IPL season?”  

The options for the question were Jos Buttler, Devon Conway, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shubman Gill respectively. For those who followed the 2023 IPL season, it would have been an easy question, as Shubman Gill was the highest run scorer of the season by some margin. Interestingly, Faf Du Plessis and Virat Kohli, who were two of the top 5 highest run scorers in the tournament, did not have their names among the options.

In 17 matches in the 2023 season of the IPL, Shubman scored a whopping 890 runs at a batting average of 59.33 in the season. It is the second most runs scored by a player in a single IPL season after Virat Kohli’s 973 runs in the 2016 IPL season. Despite Gujarat Titans losing the final of the season, the young batter was praised for his consistent performances throughout the season.   

Faf Du Plessis was the second-highest run scorer in the tournament with 730 runs in 14 innings at an average of 56.15. The Kiwi batter Devon Conway of Chennai Super Kings, the star batter Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bangalore, and the young Yashasvi Jaiswal of Rajasthan Royals were the third, fourth, and fifth-highest run scorers in the 2023 season of the IPL.
